What's Happening On The Vintage Senior Living Campus?
Carol Fairlie is the daughter of a resident at Vintage Gardens North, Catherine Lawler. Carol is a very talented pianist and blesses our residents frequently with a beautiful piano recital. She has also put together a notebook of favorite hymns for each resident so that they can sing along when she plays. She has great participation from our residents as they love both Carol and her lovely music!
Have a wonderful weekend and God Bless You.

Our residents, at Vintage Gardens North, were blessed this week with a performance by vocalists and musicians from St. Joseph Christian High School. The student's music teacher requested us to have them perform the songs they will be singing and playing for State Competition, to be held in Columbia, this weekend. The hope was that their performance for us would help prepare them for competition. Well, if the scoring was up to our residents, these students would all get first place as they were really good! We wish all of them the very best at state!
Have a wonderful weekend and God Bless You.

Last Saturday afternoon, Vintage Gardens North Ladies hosted their annual Spring Tea and Fashion Show. They each invited 2 guests to enjoy the variety of teas and delectable petit fours, cheese pinwheels, cookies, and homemade wedding mints. The tables were adorned with lavender tablecloths, hurricane candle centerpieces, and lovely china tea service sets. All the ladies were beautiful in their colorful dresses and spring jackets. With tulle and roses cascading down the staircase and creating a gorgeous archway for the models to make a grand entrance, the residents and their guests awaited the fashion show with great anticipation. Nine of our staff's daughters and granddaughters, ranging in age from 2 to 10 years, floated down the stairs and pranced and twirled before the delighted audience. They were adorable! Each child modeled 3 different outfits, so it was quite a production! Our ladies loved the show and have been talking about it all week!
Have a wonderful weekend and God Bless You.

Vintage Gardens South residents got connected this week for a spirited Spring Scavenger hunt. Participants were given a list of items relating to Spring to look for at various points around the residence. Everyone had so much fun figuring out the clues and trying to find the most items before anyone else. After the hunt, the group gathered together to learn who had won a prize and enjoyed a spring decorated table of cup cakes and fresh fruit.

One of the favorite activities for Vintage Gardens South residents is a spirited game of Wii bowling. We now have so many resident bowlers participating it is offered twice a week. This week everyone got connected while preparing for a Wii bowling tournament with Vintage Gardens North next door. The group is perfecting their skills in order to claim the prized traveling bowling and have a great time at the same time.

Our residents at Vintage Gardens Assisted Living North love chair massages! This week, massage therapy students from Vatterott College blessed many of our residents with a therapeutic chair Massage. Our beauty salon became our spa for the morning as our residents lined up for their moment of relaxation. Many ahs and ohs were heard as their muscles were expertly manipulated to erase any stress and tension from their bodies. What an amazing and beneficial way to spend a morning! It was great for both the students and our residents!
Have a wonderful weekend and God Bless You.

Vintage Gardens Assisted Living North had a large group of residents (our bus was full) participate in an outing to Cheddars for lunch. We all love Cheddars for their outstanding food, lovely decor, and the servers are efficient and friendly. Another nice thing about Cheddars is that their portions are quite large, which enabled us to bring home plenty to eat for supper! Everyone had a great time and looks forward to a return trip.
Have a wonderful weekend and God Bless You.

Vintage Gardens South residents residents gathered together and got connected recently while taking in the academy award winning movie " Lincoln". The movie offered a history lesson and sparked conversations among the group who munched on cheese popcorn during the almost three hour movie. After the movie was over everyone agreed this was one of the best movies they have seen for a long time.

Vintage Gardens South residents recently got connected during our second annual Easter Egg Race. Standing around a long table that was decorated to look like a race track, including a race strip down the middle, each resident was asked to roll five different easter eggs down the middle earning points for how long each egg rolled. Everyone had so much fun watching others finesse and push the eggs toward the finish line. Prizes were awarded for first through fourth place winners

The most wonderful thing about Easter is that Jesus Christ took our sins to the grave and was resurrected to life on Easter Day. All of us who receive His payment for our sins have eternal life. That is awesome! However, something we also enjoy about Easter is an Easter Egg Hunt! Our residents had a ball filling hundreds of plastic Easter eggs with candy for Vintage Gardens Assisted Living North's Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Good Friday. Our staff's young children participate in the hunt and our residents gather to watch the little ones collect eggs that are hidden on the front porch and the front lawn. The weather should be beautiful tomorrow and the residents are really anticipating the event. It's always a fun occasion that the residents look forward to each year!
May God bless you and your families with a wonderful Easter!
